Many Barts Choir members will know St George’s Church in Hanover Square (Handel’s old church) as the venue for Look Good Feel Better Christmas concerts for many years. Recently the Portico collapsed and £400,000 is needed to repair it. Labrador Events and the RSCM are organising a 24-hour drop in performance of Messiah on 7 and 8 September. Anyone is welcome to join for as much or as little as they want, with all net proceed donated to the Portico fund. Conductors are also needed to take sessions of one hour or more – contact Mark Strachan direct if you’d like to be involved.
