Join us in celebrating Anton Bruckner’s bicentenary with a performance of his Mass No. 2 in E Minor, unusual in being scored for choir, woodwind and brass, where he gave full play to his skills in contrapuntal writing.  The combination of choir and brass ensemble with organ and percussion gives John Rutter’s Gloria a dazzlingly dramatic and joyful sound. Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man is one of the most instantly recognisable pieces of music in the twentieth century repertoire with its bold and simple line.  Mindful of the coming season, choir and audience will also have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of carols, as the close of another memorable year of music approaches.
