About this event:
Barts Chamber Choir presents a concert of music including Dvořák Mass in D.
The Mass was composed as a commission for the opening of a new chapel in Lužany Castle. Dvorak finished it in the summer of 1887, describing it as a work of ‘faith, hope and love to Almighty God’. The Mass was sung at the dedication of the chapel on 11 September 1887, conducted by the composer himself.
